Morning update

My sweet KoKo is doing good! Surgery took longer than usual yesterday due to her specific anatomy. Because her heart is on the right, the could not do the usual Fontan and had to try doing it a different way. That way did not work so he had to do the less ideal version for it but it still works. The first 12 hours were critical but she has been doing very well. She was extubated in the OR because of the way a fontan works, the breathing tube works against the blood flow so the don’t like keeping them on it post op is possible. Overnight she was weaned off some of the medications, and her high flow oxygen was decreased by about 20%. She is chatty and wanting to get moving already but needs to rest for a bit longer yet. Thank you everyone for the prayers. We are certain that there were/are “100’s of angels in the room with her” as Ella has been praying for months 🥹❤️‍🩹
