Kora is now in her PCICU room. She is currently on a ventilator which is providing her oxygen. The surgery had one minor complication. When doing the Glenn Shunt Procedure, they use the vessel called the Superior Vena Cava to divert the blood from the upper half of the body that usually goes to the heart, directly to the lungs instead. Her SVC was smaller than they expected. They are hoping it will be able to properly direct blood flow to the lungs. Her lungs are used to 4x the blood flow so they are currently stiff and not functioning fully. Typically after this procedure, they are on a 20% oxygen saturation with a vent. Kora is currently on 80%. Our prayer is that her lungs will start functioning at full capacity before tomorrow so they do not have to open her up again to do another procedure on her.

Update: Kora is doing very well! She is in the process of weaning off the vent. If she continues improving like she is, she will be off the vent tomorrow morning and waking up at some point after that! As of 8 pm, we were down to 50% oxygen from the vent! Woohoo!
