Update #2

I am a bit behind on updates for sweet Kora. We have had lots of up's and downs the past 2 days. It looks like we will be remaining in the PCICU for a while longer yet as she is having difficulty with her oxygen levels.

Kora had another rough afternoon/evening yesterday. She is back on 100% high flow oxygen to try and keep her oxygen levels above 70. She has been destatting down to 50s with rapid breathing and high blood pressure/heartrate. They did an xray yesterday evening and confirmed that she has a collapsed lobe in her right lung. She is weaned off of most of the medication that she was on with the exception of blood pressure medication (most likely will be a long term things for her), Lasix, occasional tylonel and one medication to help open up her lungs. She is on continuous NG tube feeds at 20 mL/hour! She is almost at her regular feed rate of 30 mL/hour and we hope to reach that by this evening! She will not be allowed to take a bottle until her lung is better and her hi-flow ox can be lowered a lot...when she sleeps, her levels are all so much better than when she's moving around and awake. They have tried CPAP on her but she was not okay with the air mask and it made her heartrate even higher. Ella was able to visit her yesterday and it was wonderful to see her so happy to finally see her baby sister after a few days!

Kora is also 7 months old now, as of yesterday!! Woohoo!!
