Kora has been doing so well! Here are the updates by day:

March 29:

We got our first smile and giggle from Kora since one week ago ❤️ she has done so well today! Down to 2 nitric from 20 last night, 40% high flow from 65% (we breathe 20-22% without assistance) , almost weaned off our last IV med, full feeds through NG tube, and almost figured out our blood pressure med sweet spot with take home options! We got to hold her again and she managed to get her NG tube partially out. When we had her put back in her bed, her BP spiked because she was mad to be laid back down and not in our arms. Soon enough you will get all the cuddles your heart desires baby girl ❤️

March 31:

Kora had a wonderful day yesterday! We came off our last IV medication and she's doing good. Her breathing rate is still a little fast for their liking but it's not overly concerning. Still waiting on information regarding the kidney scans and bloodwork we had done to see if everything is okay with that! She had a bit of an odd heart rythym at night when sleeping so they did another echo and ecg this morning but her rythym has been normal before and after that one moment so not too sure if it's anything to worry about. We are trying to wean off the remaining oxygen. She is currently on a flow rate of 12L and 45% oxygen through her nose canulas. We are going to try and wean off oxygen by the end of the weekend. This will be the determining factor of what our outcome will be... If they can get her weaned off, all will be well!! If not, we are looking at an additional surgery. Praying for the best outcome!

April 1:

Kora has made huge progress the past 48 hours! We have weaned off high flow o2 and are currently at 1L flow rate (down from 12L yesterday morning!!), have been given the okay to attempt bottle feeds again, and had confirmation that as long as her numbers look good and we can get off this last bit of oxygen, we should be moving to the recovery ward as early as tomorrow! We could not be happier! We are so proud of the strength this little girl has 🩷
